Women and girls are already suffering after the reversal of Roe v. Wade. A 10 year-old incest survivor had to be transported to another state for an abortion that very well could have saved her life, and definitely saved her future. President Biden’s rhetoric has gotten stronger, but his actions have not. America needs him to do more than support codifying abortion rights. An example would be that more than 20 Black Democratic congresswomen sent a letter to Biden asking him to immediately declare a public health emergency. “In this unprecedented moment, we must act urgently as if lives depend on it because they do,” the lawmakers wrote. (The Guardian). This is not the only action he could take. The President can use his authority to step up and protect women!
