Preserve Public Education - Repeal Ohio HB 70

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

Ohio's School Takeover law, House Bill 70, is unconstitutional and was introduced and passed 3 years ago in a matter of hours with no opportunity for the public to deliver opposition testimony. It strips virtually all power from the school superintendent and elected school board and places it with a state-appointed CEO.

This 2015 article was published when HB 70 was signed into law - it provides historical details of the bill and shows how schools threatened by takeovers are high-poverty districts.

We must remove this undemocratic law from our state. Please sign this online petition to preserve and invest in public education and to return local control back to the citizens of our communities. It can be signed by anyone who lives in the state of Ohio who is 18 or over. Signers do not have to be registered voters, because this is a petition of concern and not slated for a legal aspects.

Please sign before December 30, 2018.
