This petition calls for the release of documents turned over to the US Consulate in Chengdu, China by Wang Lijun on February 6th, 2012. The House Committee on Foreign Affairs has requested the State Department release these documents, but they have yet to comply. These documents may help to expose the 12 year brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) is a peaceful self-improvement discipline practiced by approximately 100 million people in over 100 countries. Practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. In 1999, there were more people practicing Falun Gong than there were communist party members. Fearing independent social groups, Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin, planned to eradicate Falun Gong in 3 months. This led to thousands of practitioners being arrested, imprisoned, tortured, killed and having their organs harvested for profit. The United States Congress passed Resolution 605 that condemns the persecution and stands in solidarity with Falun Gong.
On February 6, 2012, the Head of Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau, Wang Lijun, fearing an assassination attempt by his boss, Bo Xilai, the Chongqing Communist Party secretary, sought asylum at the United States Consulate in Chengdu, China. At that time, he turned over documents to the U.S. Consulate, apparently incriminating Bo Xilai.
According to a Radio France International report, Wang spent over 24 hours in the consulate and told officials about crimes committed by himself and Bo. Both Bo Xilai and Wang Lijun have been intricately involved with the arrest, imprisonment, torture, and deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Wang Lijun, under the orders of Bo Xilai, carried out the harvesting of organs from living human beings. As a result of his active involvement in the persecution of Falun Gong, Bo Xilai has been sued 14 times in 13 countries on charges of torture, murder, genocide and crimes against humanity.
The action taken by Wang Lijun on February 6, 2012, is having immediate repercussions within the CCP, including the removal of both Bo and Wang from their positions. The materials Wang Lijun gave to the US embassy may contain evidence that further exposes the magnitude of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Members of the United States Congress asked Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to “provide copies of all communications between the consulate in Chengdu, the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, and the State Department,” but so far the State Department has not done so. Please sign this petition and show support for this information to be released to the public and the atrocities of the persecution to be brought to light.
