The small businesses of New York are the backbone of our great state. We closed willingly to flatten the curve. The curve has been flattened and we are ready to open safely.
The big box stores like Walmart, Target, & Costco are opened to the masses including their non essential isles, creating lines out the door and crowds in the stores. If Target can be open to large crowds, and sell clothing, jewelry, and electronics, then surely we, the smaller stores can be open and safer yet, with control on social distancing and cleansing between clients. We, small businesses will open safely and respectfully in compliance with social distancing and masks guidelines. Our income, our employees income, is essential. Our rights and freedoms to make a living have been ignored and squandered. We have worked too hard and for too many years to build up these businesses and act as supports to our communities, only to lose it all in this short time. We must get up, and take a stand, or it will be too late, and we will have nothing to come back to!
