Please sign this petition to let Marriott know that Newport Beach does not want a skyscraper that will block views, increase traffic, lower property values and turn our city into Miami.

Dear Marriott:

Shame on you for trying to build a Miami-style highrise that will tower above Newport Beach, pollute our beautiful views, increase traffic, lower air quality, reduce property values and diminish our quality of life.

We the undersigned urge you to drop your plans to build a Miami-style highrise above your existing Marriott/VEA hotel at 900 Newport Center Drive. This eyesore will block the views that many of us have enjoyed for years.

We paid a steep price for our homes because of the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, not the skyscraper we keep hearing about. We want to live in beautiful Newport Beach, not tacky Miami! We do not want more traffic and air pollution in the heart of our city.

Please DO NOT sacrifice our quality of life and destroy the value of the property we intend to pass down to our families – all so you can sell ocean-view condos to investors from outside of our city.

If Marriott will not listen, we will make our case to the City of Newport Beach Planning Commission, City Council and, if necessary, to a Court of Law.
