A parent earns their right to be a parent not by their sex, but by their commitment and love for the child. Do you erase adoptive parents' signatures off their birth certificates?

Having experienced pregnancy loss myself, I can relate to what this couple is going through, but I can only imagine how much more difficult it is for them having to deal with the additional stress of this kind of unjustifiable, wrong-headed, and mean-spirited state-imposed discrimination.

Because love is love and the other parent had a right to be acknowledged on that document

i do not understand the petty vindictive need some people feel to hurt people who are different from themselves. lighten up - it's not your life!

The argument used in defense of DOMA Is based on a religious understanding of the meaning of marriage. There is no National Religion in the Constitution. Nowhere in the Constitution is there a definition of marriage.
The early meaning of marriage was a strictly
business and property contract. Imagine that definition being the modern concept of Marriage. It's time to grow up and define Civil marriage as being between to adults declaring their union in Love!

Losing a child is an incredibly painful experience. Please do not make it worse by denying them the simple right of being listed as a parent on a death certificate.

Human dignity. For a government agency to deny the basic right to mourn ones own child is wrong.
Another example of why domestic partnership and similar legal half measures will never achieve equality.
