Tell Cheshire West and Chester Council we want clean air, inc. a Clean Air Zone in Chester

Friends of the Earth Chester & District installed 10 air monitor tubes around the City earlier in the year and now have these results. The monitoring revealed three locations across the city have illegal levels of air pollution with two more close to the legal limit. Those above were found to be near Bar Lounge on Nicholas Street, Grosvenor Museum and near Tesco on Pepper Street where you see the children on the Roman Guided Tours passing.

We desperately need Clean Air Zones (areas which deter or restrict the dirtiest vehicles) to clean the air in our towns and cities quickly. The Government’s draft plan says as much but the draft plan doesn’t recommend Clean Air Zones for the dozens of towns and cities expected to have illegal pollution for many years to come.

Show your support and help Friends of the Earth Chester & District make Cheshire West and Chester Council how strongly we feel about the issue of clean air in Cheshire West and Chester and the need for an agreed Clean Air Zone in Chester centre.
