I'm Valerie Raymond- Independent Solar Consultant . It can take up to 6 weeks and sometimes even longer  after the homeowner has their Solar panels installed for CenterPoint to Issue a Permit to Operate (PTO) in greater Houston area.

ONCOR - another Texas Distribution Utility (TDU) takes 5 days to issue  the same Permit to Operate.

Now if you are a RELIANT customer you've been asked to reduce electricity usage during "peak" hours, not to use you big appliances!!! 

Thanks to our beautiful  Texas Sun...by speeding up the authorization to operate for homeowners with Solar install.. we wouldn't have to burden ourself. I kinda like keeping my "a/c" at 76..what about you?
