Tell Budget Negotiators: Cuts to Medicaid Hurt Us All

Both the House and White House budget proposals include cuts to Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance - but these programs should not be on the negotiating table. Cuts to healthcare will cause millions to lose coverage, making health costs rise across the nation and hundreds of thousands to lose their jobs. Families USA recently reported the harmful affects this type of budget cut would cost our nation.

This is a time we must come together to help weather the economic storm in hopes that our nations most vulnerable have access to the healthcare care they need.

Please join Voices for America's Children to Tell Budget Negotiators: Cuts to Medicaid hurt us all.

It's wrong, and ultimately ineffective, to balance the budget by cutting federal support of healthcare. Both the House and White House budget proposals include cuts to Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance - but these programs should not be on the negotiating table.

Cuts to healthcare will cause millions to lose coverage, making health costs rise nationwide. Cuts to these essential programs will also cost hundreds of thousands of jobs harmful to families and government debt alike, as Families USA recently reported here:

Please join me and Voices for America's Children in standing up for our nation's most vulnerable: our kids.

Instead of cutting healthcare for the nation's most vulnerable, budget negotiators must end tax cuts for corporations and the richest Americans. In tight times, we must come together to find solutions that actually move our entire country toward the road of prosperity.

Sincerely,
