Petition Closed

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has promoted the “stand your ground” laws highlighted in the tragic shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Florida; Arizona-style, anti-immigrant legislation; racially-discriminatory voter ID laws; and anti-environmental legislation.

Amazon, Fedex, UPS and VISA are all corporate members of ALEC, and through their contributions are supporting legislation that is detrimental to our communities.

As consumers, shareholders, and concerned individuals we are asking the CEOs of Amazon, FedEx, UPS and VISA to end their membership and stop funding ALEC.

Sign the petition and join us in standing up for what is right.

As a concerned customer, I want to make sure you are aware that the American Legislative Council (ALEC) - which your company supports - is supporting legislation that is harmful to my community. This legislation includes the “stand your ground” laws highlighted in the tragic shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Florida; anti-immigrant legislation in Arizona and other states that tears families apart; racially-discriminatory voter ID laws; and anti-environmental legislation.

I would hope that your company does not want to support voter suppression, racism, environmental degradation, or breaking apart families, nor have your products or services associated with discrimination, large-scale voter disenfranchisement, and policies that directly harm my community. I urge you to immediately stop funding ALEC and issue a public statement making it clear that your company will no longer support an organization that supports legislation that is harming your customers’ communities.

Sincerely,
