N A started this petition to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and

For quite some time now, TRAI has been playing around with the pricing and reporting rules for Cable TV operators to ensure more transparency and healthy competition in the market. To make sure NEW PLAYER(S) have an even playing field, rules are being changed even if it is at the cost of the consumers (increased spend for the same basket of goods and services).

At the same time, A NEW PLAYER comes to the telecom market, offers the lowest prices, wipes away 80-90% of the entire EXISTING PLAYERS (including his own brother's compay) leading to crores of losses. And then, after gaining significant market share, the company begins to show its true colours and starts increasing prices. And at this juncture, there is hardly anyone who can compete. The other players are themselves struggling to stay afloat. But here the regulator is quiet. No one is talking about fair competition any more. We are at the brink of letting this industry become a duopoly and yet the regulator is doing nothing. All it seems to be doing is making all the efforts possible to push the industry towards being a duopoly. Lakhs of crores of taxpayer money is at stake. Both directly and indirectly. And if you think, you and I are the ultimate losers here.

WHO WILL HAVE TO PAY HIGHER TARIFFS ?

WHO WILL BEAR THE BURDEN OF HIGHER FISCAL DEFICIT IF THE TELECOM COMPANIES CAN'T PAY UP THE GOVERNMENT DUES AND GO BANKRUPT ?

WHY THESE DOUBLE STANDARDS ?

ARE THE REGULATORS AT ALL BOTHERED ABOUT THE CONSUMERS?

WE REALLY NEED STRONG AND INDEPENDENT REGULATORS. DON'T YOU FEEL SO?

IF THE ANSWER IS YES, THEN PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION AND HELP THE FIGHT AGAINST THESE PSEUDO REGULATORY BODIES.
