I believe that black history is only taught during the month of October within the curriculum in schools whereas it should be taught all year just as things like world wars are. As well as this, we’re not taught about the things that black people have contributed for example their foods, culture & traditions etc. I think that by singling the teaching of black history importance to just once month it’s further creating misconceptions that it “shouldn’t” be taught within the normal curriculum. I’d like this to get the attention of the government to start to make improvements and begin to teach more black history within our school curriculum
