Why this petition matters

Started by Blue Teddy

Due to the recent tragedy that has occured in the our campus of the University of Arizona insecurity is rapidly rising and students seem to not feel safe on campus anymore. We are requesting that access to UA buildings be limited to students and staff with a catcard. While limiting the access of building to students of UA with a catcard is not a flawless solution it is definetely a a step towards a safer campus.

The safety and security of our students is at stake. It is understandable that the UA is a public university but this should not mean that anyone should be able to access our institution and jeopordize our safety.

The need for immediate action is urgent since as of today, October 5, 2022, a professor has been shot and killed inside of one of our buildings by a person who should not have been allowed inside the building in the first place.
