Those who have signed this petition recognize that politicians who are left unchecked leads to politicians whose intent is no longer about serving the people they represent but becomes about power. Ted Cruz along with a select few have battled hard to introduce and pass a constitutional amendment. However asking for there to be a 2/3 vote from the people we are asking to basically fire themselves just will not happen in our lifetime. So instead we are asking you to use your influence and power to have the states call for a state convention. We are also requesting the following changes to your amendment.

1. Senator leaders can only serve one term as leader for no more than 2 years.

2.Speaker of the house can only serve as 1 term not to exceed 1 year.

3. No law can exclude anybody in congress or senate and any law with such provision must have such portion stricken immediately.

4. Senators starting at their seats next election will change from 6 yrs to 4 years

5. Along with senators having a max of 2 terms (8yrs total) and congress of 3 terms (6years total) no person can serve more than 10 years total between the 2 chambers.

6. Immediately following amendment being ratified state legislatures must send the governor of each state and 2 members elected by state legislature to determine a fair wage. This is to be done every 4 years barring congress and senate from determining their own wages.

7. Both chambers are not to exceed more than 2 weeks recess every quarter and must report to their local office for 40 hrs each week during said recess barring their 1 week vacation per year. 

We feel this will open our legislature to those who truly want to serve our country and limit to the destruction that those seeking power can do. We feel like every elected official should put their voice aside and serve the communities that places their trust in them and to make their voices heard.
