Liam Campbell started this petition to Teays Valley High School

Over the past decade, the educational system has become increasingly demanding of students. Assigning more homework that, although helps the students practice, becomes excessive and removes their quality time spent with their family and friends, their grasp upon caring for their own health, and their enjoyment of life itself. More specifically, Thursdays of every week at Teays Valley High School.

During Marching Band season, the Teays Valley High School calls for members of the Golden Sound to rehearse from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, leaving minimal time after rehearsal to finish any homework not completed that is due the following day. Due to many of the students who are very fearful of a failing grade, countless hours of time is spent working on their assignments secluded from their family, ripped from their friends/social-life, and forced to work until unholy hours of the night, leaving many struggling to function properly on the following day of quizzes and tests.

Eliminating said homework, on Thursdays specifically, will allow members to recover physically and mentally from spending over 13 hours in an environment designed to educate by bulk, spend quality time with their families, and have a social life outside of the school.
