This is a petition to advocate for legalizing backyard chickens in Teaneck, NJ. Hopefully it will give an idea of how many residents are interested in local laws changing in order to let us bring home some feathered friends.

In neighboring towns, it is legal to keep chickens (not noisy roosters of course) with a license in: Hackensack, Englewood, and Leonia, and it is not regulated in Bogota.

Looking at the various ordinances, the one in effect in Englewood seems like a good road map for Teaneck, with 25 feet distance from neighbors, and sanitary protocols.
