I have came here to state a big problem in Van Buren high school. That many other schools share this problem as well. This is about the dress code and how it has became a huge problem. Teenagers don’t want to cover up for teachers. Not only for girls but for guys as well at our school. It’s a became a big problem for us because, (we) should not have to look over (our) shoulders every minute wondering if someone’s going to say something about what we’re wearing. (We) should be able to wear what (we) want to wear. Without teachers constantly telling us to cover up. Without teachers yelling at us because our shirt is too short. Without teachers constantly complaining about how (our) pants have too many holes or the holes are too high up on our thighs. As for guys many of them want to wear hats and shirts that don’t fit the dress code. But as for the teachers (we) should not be getting judged or harassed for what (we) wear. (We) get we can’t come to school with what people call it “barely having any clothes on”.(We) just want to normal is the dress code that fits in the year of 2021. (We) want to normalize they close we get dress code for. This is became a huge problem and it’s time (we) fix it. This generation has changed dramatically. More importantly people do not wear clothes that were wore 20 years ago. It’s 2021 and it’s time for us to be able to wear what we want to wear!
