Brenda Robbins started this petition to Students and

Schools should teach students what they need in life not what is expected to be taught. When a student is learning something they might actually use in life, they will be more attentive and participate more often. This would also improve the academic attitude towards learning. As a student myself, I know that this will benefit not only a few students but many more. Many students come to school with a negative attitude because they know the things being taught aren’t going to be used in the “real world”. Get rid of unnecessary teachings and us students will show more interest which will result in a better society. According to https://www.ucas.com/careers/getting-job/what-are-employers-looking , employers are looking for someone who demonstrates basic skills such as a positive attitude, resilience, punctuality, verbal communication, and the ability to make professional introduction. Some other skills employers may look for is leadership, persistency, and ability to cope through tough situations. After reading this, I am certain you see all of the positive ways this change will affect schools and student academics.
