Schools are places where children learn essential subjects and life skills. The education system has made great progress, as children now learn about the diversity of race and gender. However, an area that it is rarely, if ever, discussed is neurodiversity. Neurodiversity is classed as anything that falls outside of the "neurotypical" mind and includes autism, adhd and many others. Indeed, if we do not teach our children the diversity of the human mind those who do not fall into the "norm" may face societal discrimination as a result of widespread ignorance. Thus, we need to teach the next generation about neurodoversity for a more inclusive and accepting society.
