York Memorial C.I was a beautiful school with historical significance meant to celebrate it's 90th anniversary this month, but was unfortunately devastated by a raging six-alarm fire. The school contained historical artifacts from the first world war and was originally founded in 1929 to honour those who served for our country. From the beautiful glass stained windows, to the beautiful murals, to the paneled oak wood with the names of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives, to the eleven steps going into the school representing the end of first world war (11th day, 11th month, 11th hour); this school will be greatly missed by everyone in our community. The school deserves its place in the community. Sign this petition if you want our school back. This is a special place for all of us, and those who came before us.
