Recently, the kids of Claude Watson School of the Arts and Earl Haig have been troubled with a new method of examining students to enter their programs. In a matter of seconds, everything that these students had been working towards in the arts has been crushed by the newly changed lottery entrance system. Essentially, the lottery program induces students to state "why or why not" they would like to be a part of the arts programs, they no longer require looking at report card grades, or even having a portfolio. I say that this makes these so-called art procedures seem like a joke. Many families have immigrated long distances to come to Toronto solely to enter both the CWSA and the Earl Haig curriculum, and they too have been greatly disappointed by the situation we've found ourselves in. We will continue to fight for further education in the arts, they claim this to be equity, when this is just unfairness; we do not deserve our efforts to be erased under the name of rectitude.  Please help us gain our resources and rights back.
