This is an important issue because housing is only guaranteed to upperclassmen at TCNJ who are out of state students. In state upperclassmen have to enter their name into a raffle to try to get housing. Then they receive a time slot to pick housing (as the above flyer shows). If some students have a bad time slot then they will not receive housing if all the housing is occupied already. It is not guarenteed, it is all by chance. Some students are unavaible to live off campus because they don't have a car to commute to campus or they simply can't find anyone to live with. Some students would rather continue to live on campus all four years if they had a choice to because they like everything the campus provides (library, gym, dining halls). I don't believe it is fair that the college gets to decide who can live on campus and who can't. I propose that housing should be available for any student who wants it.
