We, at TCDSU, are appalled at The National Gallery's decision to award its catering service contract to Aramark.
Aramark operates 3 Direct Provision centres for the Irish State (in Cork, Clare and Westmeath) and have further commercial ties to the US prison system. The profiteering from the inhumane and unjust system of Direct Provision is unacceptable, and goes against the ethics of a National Gallery, which aims to promote community, culture and artistic expression in Ireland.
