Amit Halder started this petition to Tata Agrico

India is home to the largest population of illiterate adults in the world – 287 million, amounting to 37% of the global total.

Owing to the widespread illiteracy in this country, large sections of the population remain unemployed.

An estimated 18.6 million people in India were jobless in 2018. The unemployment rate is 3.52 percent in this country.

The only way to combat this problem is through education. But that is a long-term solution. A quick and efficient method would be to provide free vocational training to unemployed youth.

Vocational training empowers illiterate people to undertake skilled jobs. Unemployed youth can be trained in a variety of skills – stitching and sewing, carpentry, welding, plumbing, electrical jobs, automobile repair, and more.

This petition is to request TATA Agrico to provide free vocational training to unemployed youths for their campaign “Independent You”.

The campaign is asking people of India to take a pledge at http://www.tataagrico.com/fixityourself/

For every 100 pledges that are taken, TATA Agrico shall provide free vocational training to 5 underprivileged unemployed youths.

TATA Agrico, the leading manufacturer of agricultural implements and general-purpose hand tools in India, aims to make each person self-reliant when it comes to using hand tools.

By taking the pledge, every individual is promising not only to be self-dependent, but also to empower the youth of the nation. And for every 100 pledges, TATA Agrico will provide free vocational training to 5 underprivileged unemployed youth-empowering them to be independent and self-reliant. They can use the vocational skills to secure a job and earn a living.

I request TATA Agrico to make this a reality and do their small bit in reducing unemployment.

Take the pledge today!
