Save Oldina Forest from clear-fell logging operations before it's too late

'Oldina Forest' (located in the pristine NW area of Tasmania) is currently earmarked for clear-fell logging operations to occur in late March 2020.

The forest is home to a wide variety of critically endangered and threatened species which include the Tasmanian Wedge-Tailed Eagle (including a confirmed nesting site in the NE section of the coupe), Eastern Spotted Quolls, Tasmanian Devils, Grey Goshawks and Masked Owls.

The community continue to raise concerns directly with the Tasmanian Government and their offshoot Sustainable Timbers Tasmania (STT) about whether these species are being appropriately considered in the current logging plan, given their habitat will be completely bulldozed with no alternate sites for animals to re-locate to.

Other concerns include nearby landholders/businesses being affected by the operations if the forest is lost and the area is sprayed with pesticides after logging, a complete change in future biodiversity, that students and community who use the site for their study and well-being will not have use of this area anymore.

By signing this petition you are helping our community have a voice and ensuring that we can Save Oldina Forest for future generations. Thank you!
