I grew up in Tasmania in the 70s & 80s and have watched the environment around me deteriorate. Plastics: we talk about animals being caught up in them, being strangled by them, consuming them - plastics are changing the biodiversity of our environment. Scientists are researching nano plastics that have broken down so much that particles are in the air that we breathe. Each time I walk along my local beach I pick up plastic debris. Plastics have been one of the greatest disasters of our modern age.

A container refund scheme would help reduce the pollution from people disposing of them inconsiderately, an d would encourage people to pick them up when they see lying beside roads, in parks etc.

Its a no brainer to keep corporates OUT of recycling. Well, does self regulation work, in your dreams and my nightmares.

I understand that these schemes should not be controlled by the companies who create the problem....
