The road serves the standard gauge railway station(SGR), several public schools and dispensaries, universities (Nazareen), a large resident population. It also serves as bypass to the ever busy magadi road to kiserian. The road is among the 65km contracted by Kerra over four years ago and the work has been almost to 3/4 and left there. The dust has forced several business enterprises close and school going children develop chest complications. The poor state of the road has cost the users so much money in terms of maintenance costs
