Target is committing to internal discussions; Keep showing we care!
May 28, 2019 —
We have had a positive conversation with Target management. Target understands that we are asking it to become the largest traditional retailer in the US to make a 2020 commitment to eliminate plastic bags in its stores.
Target management is committing to internal discussions relating to our request and petition and to continued conversation with us in June.
Industry watch: Trader Joe’s (474 stores), Wegmans (90 stores), and Big Y (83 stores) have all made commitments to eliminate plastic bags at checkout by 2020. Aldi does not hand out plastic bags at checkout. Warehouse stores Costco, BJ’s, Sam’s Club, and IKEA also do not hand out plastic bags.
Please continue to show Target its customers want change. Share with friends and followers by Facebook and Twitter. Every signature matters.
