Brandon Grinstead started this petition to Target and

It should be inhumane and unlawful to require mandatory overtime in the United States, or at the very least at a state level.  In the application process for a full time job, you sign agreeing to between thirty to fifty hours per week of scheduled planned work days/hours. Requiring unscheduled, unplanned mandatory overtime presents health concerns, safety concerns, family concerns and schedule concerns. I am simply saying you should at the very least, be able to opt out of mandatory overtime for the above reasons, and it should definitely be optional on your application whether you can or want to do so. This appears to be against labor laws and definitely feels wrong and/or inhumane but unfortunately is not against those laws, quite yet. If this feels morally incorrect and unjust, then it must be. I, along with many others truly believe it should be optional on the application and never required regardless of job duties and responsibilities. A perspective some may require, many may not be able to do overtime simply for other job responsibilities, health, family responsibilities, and just moral. In a world of work, it is already hard enough to be comfortable and employers requiring mandatory overtime rather than hiring more employees, is just wrong. Please, sign this petition to at least require employers to make it optional on the application process and/or their company contract.
