Substitute teacher Ms. Smith from English 11, room 108 has created an unwelcoming environment for students because of her homophobic actions. She consistently lectures students about her own religious beliefs, claiming that it is wrong for students to be part of the LGBTQ+ community. She even told students they were going to hell for their sexuality. 

When students protested by posting signs with gay rights messages around the school, Ms. Smith took down the signs and wrote “God will prevail” on her whiteboard. Not only is it wrong for a teacher to preach their own religion to students, but it is extremely wrong to discriminate and make students feel unsafe at school. 

In addition, this homophobic teacher singles out LGBTQ+ students to argue with and send to detention.  

Please fire Ms. Smith from James Ford Rhodes School of Environmental Studies, as she creates a hostile environment for LGBTQ+ students in the classroom.
