In Australia, each year approximately 18 million printer cartridges are thrown away and end up in landfill. Everyday printer cartridges are used, they are used in workplaces, schools, offices, government buildings and at home yet there is no where (or limited places with conditions) to recycle once they're used.

Printer Cartridges cannot be recycled in your at home or work bin, yet have many materials (plastics and metals) that can be reused in other products after they've been used in our printers. When thrown into landfill, opportunity and materials are lost.

A Local Community Recycling Centre where printer cartridges can be recycled is needed now in Tamworth (and everywhere in Australia). Similar to how we recycle fluorescent lights, smoke detectors, paint, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, batteries and oils. By educating and changing our behaviour on how to recycle printer cartridges and giving everyone an easy and effective way to do so will limit the amount going into landfill and protect our environment.

With so much focus on recycling and environmental change, now is the time to make this change!
