As we have come across the news about Tamil Nadu government informing that for grades 1-8 there will be no offline classes conducted till January 10th from January 3rd and online classes will commence. The major reason for this decision is due to the rising cases of patients being affected by corona virus. To slow down the spread of this virus, states of India have already begun imposing lockdowns.

There has been a news about 31 students being tested positive for corona virus from a coaching institute for NEET. They are mostly students studying in the grades 11-12. If students in a coaching institute with less strength were affected with the virus, it can not be guaranteed that the same age group students can do fine in big educational institutes like schools if they are asked to be present physically.

This increases the risk of spreading of the virus as we can not say for sure that the schools are maintaining a strict protocol as advised by the government. Even if the schools ensure that they follow the rules and regulations brought upon by the government, there are some students who won't follow these regulations due to lack of consciousness. As a matter of fact the students are yet to be vaccinated which means that they have a fairly low immunity when compared to the vaccinated adult.

It is of our best interests that the TN government considers allowing online classes for grades 9-12 as we students are also liable to the spread of the virus.
