Recently, Team Amino/Medialab has added a video chat function to its app Amino.

Amino is a 13+ online platform, with a large userbase of minors. This new function is  a risk to these users, not only allowing online predators to abuse, groom, and even (sexually) extort children, but also exposing minors to many videos or advertisements of a sexual or grotesque nature.

Many other platforms such as Skype, Omegle, and Kik face such issues, but unlike these platforms, Amino is unprepared to deal with the consequences. There is no option to turn off this feature, moderators on the app are not able to regulate lives, and the moderation from Team Amino has been considered subpar by the entire userbase for years.

This feature is under severe backlash and fierce criticism from Amino users all over. Countless are upset by the addition of the option, the lack of control, and the risks it comes with, To protect the communities Amino users so love, let your voice be heard -sign the petition.
