In June of 2020, standing in front of Jacksonville, Florida's City Hall addressing a crowd of hundreds, Mayor Lenny Curry promised to take down all monuments that celebrate the Confederacy in Jacksonville.  It is now almost 2 full years later.

Mayor Curry went back on his promise by shifting the responsibility to the City Council.  Curry knew that the conservative City Council would not vote for the removal of monuments and statues to the Confederacy.

By signing this petition, I am asking that the mayor honor his promise of removing statues that celebrate the Confederacy and Jacksonville's City Council to take the necessary steps to do so.
