Take Down Smoke Shop From 108th street
Our tight knit Jewish community (as many other communities, I’m sure) has lost many young people to drug addiction, especially in the past 5 years. Many of these kids came from good families, loving parents, but succumbed to influences of their peers and peer pressure around them. There is currently a Smoke shop that is opening up on the corner of 108 street and 65th avenue, the 3rd of its kind on the short strip of 108 street that runs approximately 4 blocks long. The shop is a couple of blocks down from Forest Hills High School, and is at the epicenter of teen gatherings. On the store front, many varieties of hookas as seen, as well as an inappropriate poster. The biggest concern is that this smoke shop will provide a passageway for young adults to have access to tobacco, possibly marijuana, and then stronger addictive narcotics and pills.
Please sign the petition if you are in favor of the removal/change of this smoke shop to a more useful store. Let’s again unite as a community for the well being of us all!
