Hello Loomis Comunity,

As some of you may know Del Oro has taken away their parking privileges for the lots directly on campus and is pushing all students to a parking lot that is a 5 - 10 minute hike from campus. As a student that drives and goes to Del Oro this directly affects me and if not all but the majority of upperclassmen that attend this High School. We have only been back in school for about two weeks now and they are already threatening multiple students with having their cars towed, removing privileges to park at all on campus, etc. The two close lots on campus are almost completely empty yet they "don't have any more open spots" and even if you can get a pass for those lots you have to pay up to $50 which most students don't have. This new parking has made countless students late for class, in some cases done damage to lower non4wheele vehicles, and genuinely makes the whole High School experience a lot harder to manage. Students that live farther from campus have to fight for parking amongst their peers and students have been forced students to make their own parking. Not to mention students now have to pay anywhere from $300 - $700 just so they can get their vehicle back if they were a part of the unlucky group that gets towed. Students that cannot pay that fee will have to deal with the fact of having their car impounded and now will lose their transportation to school, work, and to run any errands. These are all things that students should not have to deal with just for coming to school, Del Oro should be a place where we feel safe and heard but in the past few weeks it seems that we have been completely stripped of our voices and are told to "just deal with it". Please help the students at Del Oro have their voices heard and put an end to the new parking rules,
