I learned about this atrocity through an event I attended at Uppsala University. Learning about this is heart-breaking. When are we ever going to get to a place where there is respect for humankind and dignity. How much more will our government wait, remain silent and let this genocide continue to happen. I am absolutely appalled by this. It is not just up to the US government but also the entire global community and governments to do something about this. There must be active citizenship from us as well. Some sort of sanctioning or pressure from our governments towards this human crime would be greatly appreciated. We must be kind to one another. It is a basic human necessity.

Human trafficking is an issue that we have been dealing with for an extremely long time. They result in horrendous things such as rape, torture, and exploitation. People seeking refuge in Israel are coming from places that are unsafe, and on their way they are being kidnapped, abused and killed. They attempt to escape brutality only to walk into its hands again while trying to reach freedom and refuge. It is a vicious cycle that needs to come to an end. The United Nations needs to take action, and end this. Human trafficking is no different than instances of holocaust or other forms of mass murder. If we want to reach an era of peace, the UN needs to step up and realize that there are issues going on, and recognize that they need to do something about it.
