Take Action: Help End the Gadhimai Massacre 2014.
HELP TO END THE GADHIMAI MASSACRE OF NEPAL.
Gadhimai festival is a month-long Hindu festival that is held once every five years at the Gadhimai temple of Bariyapur, in Southern Nepal.
The event involves the world's largest sacrifice of Animals – including buffaloes, pigs, goats, chicken and pigeons – with the goal of pleasing the Gadhimai God!!!
Last year Nepal's government upheld the Gadhimai Jatra mass animal sacrifice, despite strong global protest. On Nov. 24-25 2009, some 250,000 animals were abused, mutilated and beheaded in what may be the world's largest religious slaughter.

"STOP ANIMAL SACRIFICE" is dedicated to the eradication of the practice in Nepal, where it is estimated that annually hundreds of thousands of animals are killed in the name of religion, some in an extremely cruel manner.
This site was established to phase out blood sacrifices by raising awareness of these practices, and pressurizing the Government of Nepal to enact new laws and enforce existing ones in regards to animal cruelty.
Please feel free to contribute your stories and comments on our Stories Page, and consider helping fund the ongoing campaign to stop animal sacrifice by making a modest donation. Also see how you can help for other ideas on how you can help make Nepal “sacrifice-free.”
