It is clear that the Taita Taveta County governor is incompetent. He lacks the simple ability to understand the state of affairs around him. He has either employed incompetent advisors or does not listen to the few who could be competent.

He has put the county in a stalemate which only he can get it out of. He has then refused to engage with stakeholders and chooses to spend time attending to non-issues and also presenting his favourite rhumba music show at Milele FM, which he partly owns.

Meanwhile, citizens of the county suffer due to lack of services. No development is taking place. Suppliers are not getting paid. People are not doing business. The county is as good as being shut.

The governor collected a batch of signatures with an aim of dissolving the county government. Despite having the required numbers, he has decided to sit on them, halting the process.

We have started this petition to compel anyone who cares for the citizens of Taita Taveta County to ask the incompetent governor to either stop the process and allow people to proceed on with their lives or move it forward immediately and see it collapse right on his face.

We shall take this petition to the highest office in the land and push for action.
