Every person attending Tahoma high school is getting their power hour taken away because of a few fights. Power hour is used by almost every student to not only socialize but to catch up on homework, late assignments, to take/retake tests and or quizzes and SO many more important things! If you look at obvious statistics we have over 2,700 student in Tahoma so 5 fights may seem like a big deal but in comparison to the amount of people in such a small space it is nothing. There are also a lot of kids that struggle with self image and mental health this may include things such as eating disorders, depression etc. and dividing lunch is just going to make these things worse! The average teenagers are more comfortable and tend to struggle with these things a lot less when with there friends so taking that outlet and motivation away could very likely cause more problems than a few students getting into fights!
