little oak football field started this petition to Taggart Homes

Our Story

Annesley Miners Welfare was built on land in 1920, with a dance hall added in 1932. A bowling green and tennis courts were on site with a football field, cricket pitch and pavilion. In 2019 the land was brought, and we the people of Annesley were reassured by our counsellors that the football field would be given back to Annesley as this was gifted to us by the Squires 100 years ago. As part of our councils planning permission, they negotiated our field for our community, children, young adults, and clubs would be preserved forever. Taggart Homes are now trying to reinforce change on their plans and build on our football pitch. They are trying to tell us the community that houses would serve our area better.

OUR MISSION

We are a strong likeminded community that will not allow Taggart Homes to tell us what will serve us better! Our schools are over capacity our one doctor’s surgery is over ran. More houses will not enhance the lives of the people in Annesley. The field that was promised to a local football team which would have a massive positive impact on the physical and mental health of our local children and community. Our community have amazing clubs that can play on this field, effectively inspire the children and young adults of Annesley to be part of a team, football community and achieve an enhanced happier experience and long-lasting memories. Football is not only great for physical health it also promotes teamwork and sharing life lessons that cannot be taught.

Goal

1) We want Taggart Home to give our field back to us as agreed in the planning permission.

2) We want to use our committee to help support the new football club.

We care about our community, and we do not want extra housing. We need your support in helping this petition get exposure and help in our appeal to free our football pitch back to the people of Annesley.
