Problem
In the African American community, many people misunderstood what a mental health condition is and don't talk about this topic. African Americans may be reluctant to discuss mental health issues and seek treatment because of the shame and stigma associated with such conditions. The stigma and the shame of others knowing that individuals are suffering from Dementia, schizophrenia, ADHD, OCD, Autism, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, and clinical depression; can be uncomfortable and embarrassing to discuss with others.

Solution
Our voices matters; the need and funding is available to the African American communities regarding Mental Health. The funding will be able to accommodate the community with treating and understand Dementia, schizophrenia, ADHD, OCD, Autism, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, and clinical depression

Personal story
African Americans are no different when it comes to prevalence of mental health conditions when compared to the rest the population. There's a lack of information about mental health issues and available resources for African American in Tacoma community.
