In a county of 5 million people, all school districts that are located In Harris county have canceled or delayed their start into the school year EXCEPT one, (HUMBLE ISD) Harris county is a large hotspot for COVID and their decision had nothing to do with our HEALTH nor EDUCATION. this district has been spooked about loosing funding by the state...however If 50+ school districts in Harris county they are making the decision to delay school as it only seems fathomable to delay if we want to put and end to the spread of COVID. This if for BUSINESS and is unacceptable for the community, students, and teachers. I am senior this year and am the class of 2021 and want to be finished with school more than anyone but this needs to be handled appropriately unlike the plan in place. Their WILL be an outbreak, their WILL be more hospitalization, and we WILL see no end to this. We should not trust an insure school board that knows nothing about the virus and have never experienced a pandemic like this. Should we really put our trust in them when every decision made in the last 4 moths has changed? When a spike in cases/hospitalizations begin just know that HUMBLE ISD is held accountable...
