Remove the 60% Criteria in Canara & Syndicate Bank PGDBF Recruitment 2018

Recently, Public Sector Banks Canara Bank and Syndicate Bank issued recruitment notifications which invited ON-LINE APPLICATIONS, from the eligible candidates to apply for admissions to the specially designed One year training course leading to Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF) either through Manipal Global Education Services Pvt Ltd., Bengaluru or NITTE Education International Pvt Ltd., Mangaluru, which are recognised by UGC.
In the eligibility criteria they mentioned A Degree (Graduation) with a minimum of 60% marks in any discipline.
This minimum percentage criteria is simply unfair to lakhs of candidates who aspire to work in the Banking Sector.
There are several reason to justify the fact that this percentage criteria is unfair.
The followings are the reason why we want the 60% criteria to be removed:
1. IBPS PO Recruitment: Although PGBDF recruitment and IBPS PO Common Recruitment are different in the process but the Job Role and Category are same. In IBPS PO, there is no Minimum Percentage Criteria.
2. UPSC & SSC: UPSC, the biggest and most prestigious recruitment examination in the country does not have any percentage criteria. Similarly, SSC CGL recruitment too has no such criteria.
3. SBI PO: The largest public sector bank in India, State Bank of India recruits Probationary Officer without any percentage criteria.
4. Scoring System: While India is known for its diversity, the scoring system resembles the same. 60% is quite a nature thing in Engineering since it is based on CGPA grading system. While in normal Bachelor's degree course, in many universities, 60% is a lot of marks.
Apart from these above mentioned reasons, it is totally unfair to judge a candidate's ability through percentage he or she obtained in their Bachelor's. The whole recruitment exam is based on Aptitude, Reasoning and General Awareness. So it is not fair to keep the minimum percentage criteria.
On behalf of the lakhs of aspirants unfairly left out due to the percentage criteria, I request you to kindly remove the minimum percentage criteria.
