Daniel Foster started this petition to Representative Sylvia Garcia and

In 2002 the U.S. army included Section 9528 of the No Child Left Behind Act which  requires that public high schools give the military as much access to campuses and student contact information as is given to any other recruiter.
As we have seen with recent murders of Vanessa Guillen, Gregory Morales, and Lavena Johnson The millitary is not only an unsafe environment for minorities, but the U.S. millitary also will go to extreme lengths to not protect and hide any wrong doings that happens to soldiers from our communities.  However, the millitary will use extreme tactics to recruit young people to join and establish careers in the millitary (ex: Video Games tournaments, JROTC programs, future soldiers programs and U.S. army partnership for youth success program).
With that being said I propose to abolish section 9528 of the no child left behind act to eliminate any millitary access to low income schools and to put an end to the predatory tactics the millitary uses to deceive poor and minority youth, while also promoting more college readiness programs. Please take time to sign this petition to protect our sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters.
