We want to make Sam Houston Park look flawless by removing the Spirit of the Confederacy statue and replacing it with a statue of Houston native and beloved singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

Beyoncé was born in Houston on September 4th, 1981. She rose to fame in the mid 90's as the lead singer of the popular R&B girl group Destiny's Child, selling over 60 million albums and winning three Grammy Awards. As a solo artist Beyoncé has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and won nineteen Grammy Awards. She is the most nominated woman in Grammy Award history and the most winning artist in MTV Music Video Awards, BET Awards, and Soul Train Awards show history.

Houston is the most diverse city in America, and we deserve parks filled with statues of Americans representative of our rich and vibrant culture. So listen, let's leave white supremacists speechless by showing them that Confederate statues aren't irreplaceable and that they don't run the world!
