Sylacauga Little League has been in service of the children and families of our community since 1953. Little League baseball and softball are made possible because of volunteers who give countless hours in service to the children in Sylacauga, Childersburg, Fayetteville, Alpine, Winterboro, and Coosa county. Those who participate in Little League do so solely for the love of the game and the joy it brings to the children in our communities. Thanks to a contract with the city of Sylacauga allowing use of playing fields in Wingard Park, Little League Baseball has been able to enjoy 65 years of commitment to the area. Little League is proud of the commitment of volunteers who have made it possible to host not only traditional baseball, but also the inclusive Challengers League for multi-needs children and the competitive Softball League which showcases the talents of the girls in our community.
On December 19th, Sylacauga City Council met and voted to serve termination of the contract giving Sylacauga Little League use of the playing fields at Wingard Park. This notice of termination gives Little League one year to vacate the fields where so many children and families have come to enjoy America’s favorite sport.
We ask you to join us in petitioning Sylacauga City Council to rescind their decision to terminate the contract with Sylacauga Little League and allow Little League to continue use of the fields. Please join the hundreds of families in Sylacauga, Childersburg, Fayetteville, Alpine, Winterboro, and Coosa county who wish to uphold the tradition and values of Little League, which have enjoyed 65 years of service to this area.

Join us at 5:00 pm Wednesday, January 3rd in the council chambers of Sylacauga City Hall. #WeAreSylacaugaLittleLeague
