Sycamore Valley Park is Danville's Premier neighborhood park.  It has many beautiful features, including baseball and soccer fields, bocce courts, basketball courts, a playground, picnic area and fountain/pond/green space where individuals go to relax an enjoy.  The Town of Danville is proposing to replace the beautiful green space and fountain/pond area with a skateboard park.  The park is enjoyed by many individuals of all ages and the green space and pond/fountain area is a main feature that sets it apart from many other parks in the area.  To replace this pristine feature with a skateboard park would take away something that so many enjoy.  It is a place where individuals come to relax, walk or run.  It is a place to take prom, homecoming and family photos.  It is a place where families picnic and play.  It is a serene area for the many citizens of this community to enjoy.  To replace it with a skateboard park would benefit only a few, but take away so much for many.

Driving down beautiful Camino Tassajara Road would change forever from the natural rolling serene landscape thousands of commuters, neighbors and visitors enjoy daily -- to a giant concrete structure impossible to hide.

Town Of Danville also feels a need for high street visibility and security camera surveillance which suggests a concern for inappropriate behavior. If crime is not an issue, why is this vigilance necessary?

Many neighbors are not against a skate park for Danville, the big issue is location. It would be more appropriate near a middle school or Mustang Soccer Complex, not adjacent to where so many young children and seniors enjoy the park every day.

Let's save the serenity of Sycamore Valley Park! Please sign the petition to let the Town of Danville know we do not want a skateboard park at this location.
