Right now in NSW children of unvaccinated parents are being indirectly discriminated against by not being allowed to return two swimming lessons. Many parents who rely solely upon themselves without any family support can no longer take their children to learn the lifesaving skills of swimming based on the parents vaccination status. In many cases, infants and toddlers need to be assisted with their parents being in the water during the lessons.

Swimming lessons need to be available to all children regardless of their parents vaccination status. We are calling on Swimming Australia to support these changes along with the New South Wales government.

Summer is fast approaching in Australia the drowning right naturally increases based on the amount of people around water. Unfortunately, denying children these skills as we move into the most popular time of year to be in the water is nothing but a recipe for disaster and potential increase loss of life or disability.
