We are in a Climate Emergency, with climate change already impacting the Mallee.  We are seeing increased heat, reduced rainfall and the inflows to the Murray Darling Basin have almost halved in the past twenty years.  

Climate change is putting much at risk. Health, water quality, recreation, agriculture, productivity.

Heatwaves are predicted to become more common which will have huge impacts on health and quality of life in the Mallee, particularly affecting the communities most vulnerable.

Thousands of local councils globally have declared a Climate Emergency and are developing climate emergency action plans for their community. They are providing the first ray of hope in an otherwise extremely challenging time.  Many councils all working to restore a safe climate can achieve a lot.
